Rotary Club of Jasper Playground Ribbon Cutting

The Rotary Club of Jasper held a Ribbon Cutting for the new playground at Roper Park.

Rotary Club Of Jasper Playground Ribbon Cutting

The Rotary Club of Jasper contributes to the City of Jasper, Pickens County and even the World. Through our volunteer efforts, fundraising and advocacy, we make a difference. To address the needs of our community we focused on where children play. In the US, 2300 children are reported missing daily; children under age 6 are targeted most frequently while playing, walking, or riding a bike. The existing play area at Roper Park is over 300 yards from the furthest baseball field which creates an unsafe situation. In 2024 we did something about it. Through partnership with the Rotary Foundation, Pickens County Recreation & Parks Department and  Southeast Outdoors Solutions we created a safe and secure play area for school-age children. The playground falls under Rotary’s Maternal and Child Health Area of Focus and encourages physical activity with children and provides a safe designated area to play in the proximity of their parents. At Rotary, we are People of Action.
